Hadley Mountain Sunset
A summer sunset trip report from a fire tower in the Southern Adirondacks.

On August 3rd, Jenn, Elena, and I headed an hour upstate to watch the sunset from Hadley Mountain Fire Tower. It's only about 1.7 miles to the summit, but I had forgotten how steep the trail is! The hike has 1,561ft of gain in just over a mile and a half, so it's a real calf burner.

Just below the summit, we got an awesome sunset view at a lookout... my jaw literally dropped!

Not long after, we made it to the summit in time for sunset!

There was a small group of women with their dogs on the summit, so we said hello and then climbed up into the tower.

Mileage: 1.71 miles
Elevation Gain: 1,601 feet
RIP my calves.
