Jay Mountain Foliage Hike
A fall foliage hike.
September 26th, 2020
Elena, Paul, Greg, Jenn, and I set out to hike Jay Mountain and pick some fresh New York apples! We arrived at the trailhead around 9:30AM and began the climb up to the first lookout.
We took photos, ate a snack, got attacked by small bugs, and enjoyed the views before setting off for the ridge.
I had done this hike before in the winter and went all the way to the main summit. This time, we stayed on the ridge for a bit to take in the foliage before turning back so we would have time to pick apples before the farm closed.
Unfortunately, on the way down I twisted my ankle pretty badly with a mile to go. I was able to finish the hike out and it's feeling 95% better now.
Mileage: 6.39 miles
