Local Biking

Local Biking

I've been exploring the local bike paths around Troy, since it seems wrong to put my bike in the car to go biking somewhere else. Unless that else has see-saws, jumps, and berms!

One of my favorite trails so far is the Uncle Sam Bike Path, since it runs North-South through Troy and is a dedicated trail that I don't have to share with cars. It's really useful to get far distances in Troy on a bike, and I can get to it easily from our apartment. It's an old rail trail, that's paved for biking and walking now. It runs parallel and down the hill from the Oakwood Cemetery too, which also allows bikers.

Another trail that I just found is the Empire State Trail, which runs North-South on the other side of the Hudson river, along Green Island and Cohoes up to Peebles State Park.

There are also places slightly further away like Bethlehem Town Park, Albany Pinebush Preserve, and Pittstown State Forest. I haven't been to Pittstown yet, but I've got a silly video of me playing on a see-saw at Bethlehem Town Park one day before work.

Yay for local biking!
